Displaying on page 66 of the new DragonLance campaign setting Legends of the Twins.
During the time of DragonLance known as the Dwarfgate Wars, Kharas, the dwarven hero Kharas had protested against the war by shaving off his beard. Torn by the sight of dwarf killing dwarf, Kharas finds the Thane's two sons dead on the battlefield. Placing them on the back of his war pony, Kharas brings their bodies back to the Thane. Originally painted in oils on a 16x20 gesso board. The scan falls short of doing the original justice. This is my favorite of the illustrations that I have done for Margaret Weis Publications.
