Originally I was working with a photo of two friends of mine who are sisters. One was wearing black and the other white, and I was going to make them into a yin yang ... which I might still do, but as one had golden hair and the other dark dressed in silver, it reminded me so much of night and day that I played off that instead. Their arms were not clasped behind the sun's leg in the original photo but I did that in a sense of unity between the two like a relationship sharing the sky. I felt that it also tied in well with the zodiac series with the sun sign and the moon sign.
The media is mixed, as you can tell that the sky in the background is digital, but the majority of the image is done in watercolor and ink. It was mostly an experiment in mixing medias, and I feel like it still captured the intent of the work.
