After I completed Sisters of the Sky, I realized that I had Sisters of the Sun and did not have Sisters of the Moon. Since there was a cat for the sun picture, I figured that it would be appropriate to use a wolf for the moon. The figure's face I tried to keep in half shadow, reminiscent of the moon itself. Also I liked the fact that the moon is supposed to represent the female qualities along with hidden traits. The water being dark, reflective, and hidden, with only a few reflecting lights, was much like the night sky itself with the female representation of the moon standing within it.
This is a combined media project of watercolor and digital, as you can tell by the moon and stars. Most of it is watercolor, but I discovered that you could print out base colors onto watercolor paper, so I printed out the moon too. After scanning it I enhanced it a bit more in photoshop with the stars and such. Unfortunately the conversion from tiff to jpg made the colors darker and dingier than I wanted.
